End of year close out update

At their last meeting of the season on March 4th, local OHV/ATV Club, AZ Desert Riders, LLC (AZDR), once again recognized the importance of supporting the local community with funds raised through the season at various AZDR hosted events.  AZDR contributed $200 per student to the Arizona Association of Student Councils for 10 students from Salome High School to attend camp in Prescott this summer for leadership skills training.  Vice President, James Rinehart, and Secretary, Patti Rinehart, met with several of the students who will attend the camp and presented Tatum Milts, one of the students who will attend camp, with a check for $2,000 for attendance at the leadership camp this summer.

AZDR also presented a check for $2,000 to Sharon Hillhouse, Library Manager, for Friends of the Centennial Library for the Kids Summer Reading Program.  AZDR has contributed to the Kids Summer Reading Program multiple years.  AZDR truly appreciates the hard work and selflessness Sharon shows toward the community’s youth.

AZDR also donated $1,500 to Blue Ribbon Coalition and $500 to the Arizona Peace Trail.  These entities are organizations whose stated goals go hand in hand with the purpose and mission of AZDR, a not for profit LLC; that is to “promote the sport of OHV riding with safety awareness and respect for the environment  and work on projects that support our community, our highways and our desert.”

Additionally, AZDR contributed $200 to the VFW in Salome and $200 to Lewis Animal Shelter in the name of Gabe Palma and AZDR.  Gabe Palma gives generously of his time for many community activities and this February Gabe volunteered to cook hamburgers to feed the many participants in the Fun Run hosted by AZDR.  Gabe was a part of the huge success of the Fun Run in April.

AZDR cleans a 2 mile section of US Highway 60 through the Adopt-A-Highway Program twice annually and also does desert cleanup projects each year.  Together, we can all make a difference in the public land we all enjoy!
