Many Thanks to AZ State Parks, La Paz Regional Tourism and McMullen Valley Chamber of Commerce for there efforts in organizing the Abandoned Mine Tour on January 13, 2018. And to the Iron Horse Restaurant and Bar, Salome, AZ, for the use of there parking lot!
AZ Desert Riders President Ron Hadford scouted the route for 50 vehicles and 79 participants. Great work Ron. We split into two groups, meeting in the middle for lunch at Desert Queen Mine and te old Winchester town site. Darrell and Norm Ritz led the other group. This State Parks program is a great way to promote tourism and economic development in areas of AZ. Well received by all attendees, we enjoyed showcasing our community and the surround desert and history. A great way to share why we enjoy rural AX and are working towards the betterment of the area for us all!
